A note from Deacon Pat
Ellen, my wife, and I would like to thank the parish as well as Fr. Brad, Fr. Peter, Deacons Jim Seidel and Jim Stokes for being so welcoming! A special thanks to Misty, Vince, and Vince’s mother who gave up their weekend to host the receptions!
Ellen and I are here at St. John’s to serve the parish so if there is any way we can help you, please let us know. We both love to speak about Jesus and the Church!
Ellen’s ministry has been mostly in the areas of marriage, motherhood, young women, and sisterhood. One of my weaknesses is that I don’t pick up names quickly, so please tell me your name each time we meet and eventually I will place your name with your face. If you are a physician, please, please contact me!
Finally, people often ask how to address me. At church and related activities Deacon Pat is just fine (forget Dr.). I will always address the priests as Fr. … For me this is a recognition of what Christ and the Church has done in and thru these men. The titles Bishop, Father, and Deacon are not about status, but a recognition that we are here to serve.
