Our Music Ministry provides an excellent opportunity to share our musical gifts or “talents.” Volunteer singers and instrumentalists are welcome to sing and play.  Choral, orchestral and ensemble experience is helpful, but not required.  This ministry encompasses the following groups:

Adult:

This choir sings for the 11:00 am Sunday Mass, as well as other special liturgies. It rehearses on Wednesday 6:30 pm – 7:45 pm.

Children:

This choir, composed of those in grades 3-6 registered in our Religious Education Program, sings on special occasions.

Rejoice:

This choir, which performs a special ministry to assisted living and progressive/ long-term care facilities. It rehearses on Wednesday  4:00 – 5:00 pm.

Resurrection:

This choir, which sings for Funeral liturgies, practices 30 minutes before Mass begins.

Schola Cantorum:

This small group, specializing in traditional forms of sacred music, sings for selected liturgies to include the Diocesan Tridentine Mass.

Youth/Family:

This choir, composed of those in grades 7-12 registered in our Religious Education Program and their parents, sings for 9:00 am Sunday Mass as well as other special liturgies. It rehearses from noon to 1:00 on selected Sundays.

Cantors/Song Leaders:

Adult cantors must be able to read music; sing the Psalm clearly and accurately; lead the assembly’s hymns and make announcements, as required.  Knowledge of current Catholic liturgy is required, as is training through the Diocese, NPM or similar organization.  If you are interested, contact the Director of Music/Liturgy for an interview.

Instrumentalists:

Adult and youth instrumentalists (e.g. wind, reed, string, percussion) should posses an intermediate level of proficiency.  If you are interested, contact the Director of Music/Liturgy for an interview.
