Our Build Project Begins

The season of Advent is a time of waiting, preparing and rejoicing.  We look to the coming of the Lord and his birth on Christmas Day.  This Advent has special significance for our parish faith community.  On December 17, 2005 at 9:30a.m. St. John the Evangelist will break ground for its Parish Life Center.  This building of 31,000 sq. feet combines worship space with classrooms for religious education and meetings as well as parish office space.

A large cross on a tower announces to all who pass by that here people come to worship the Lord.  A chapel that can accommodate 125 people will be used for daily Mass, funerals, devotional services and quiet time before the Blessed Sacrament.  A large room that seats 800 will be appropriately decorated for our weekend liturgies.  As our parish continues to grow this large space is needed to accommodate the many attending our weekend Masses.

Since September 8th 2001, when we were established as a parish we have grown and now have registered over 1,400 families.  The many religious and social activities help to define our parish community. Above all it is a community that is brought together and strengthened by our common prayers and concerns.
