The Charismatic Prayer Group meets every Monday evening to spend their time to praise, worship, offer thanksgiving, and petition Our Lord. At the conclusion of their weekly meeting the group sets aside a time to offer prayer for those individuals with particular needs.

This retreat weekend is open to every adult member of the parish. Retreats are held twice a year with an objective of personal and community renewal. The process is centered on sharing God's love in a prayerful atmosphere. This renewal strives to bring God's message of love into finer focus and encourage participants to respond to Christ's call to a closer and deeper relationship with Him and other members of our parish.

Contemplative Prayer deepens our relationship with God. This silent prayer opens the mind and heart beyond thoughts, words, and emotions. We all have the spirit of God dwelling within us. "Be still and know that I am God." The group meets each Friday in the chapel. Each meeting begins with a twenty-minute silent prayer. The group then meets for a discussion to further their spiritual journey.
This program is generally held twice during the Liturgical Year and uses Lent or Advent as a theme. Please check the parish bulletin for details.

When it comes to studying the Bible, some Catholics can't get enough information and understanding about the Old and New Testaments. However, many (if not most) Catholics have "Bible Insecurity"—embarrassment for not knowing more and yet fear of sounding "stupid" in a Bible study class. A study group at St. John's is a place where, whatever your Bible background, you'll feel comfortable and your knowledge and faith will grow. How important is Scripture study? Consider this: the Bible is God's love letter to us, and through it he draws us into intimate friendship with him. Every word is a word of love, inviting us to walk with him. Watch the bulletin for opportunities to enter this journey.

A Small Christian Community (SCC) is a committed gathering of 8 to 20 individuals who come together regularly to connect life and faith through God's word, prayer, and fellowship, with loving support and outreach. We have groups for men, women, and for both men and women.
There are several groups already meeting. Hebrews 10:25 says "We should continue meeting together to encourage one another." SCC provides a way to connect religion and life, and provides a sense of belonging and caring for each person.
